Ferguson vs Woulard

  • just would like to see which you guys on the board would pick if you had the choice and why? i just watched the elite 11 camp and just got got a vibe about the ferguson kid that he is a lot like bray personality wise, i may be wrong.

but that woulard kid has got some real talent and an arm especially only playing qb for a year, shows he is at least football smart to pick up on all that knowledge that quickly. he also is very humble and seems like a hard worker and not cocky.

    i pick woulard.

  • With our future offense Woulard. With our previous offense Ferguson

Not exactly the question asked, but I think they should offer both.

  • If I had to choose I'd take Ferguson because I'm sure there is a reason why none of the big schools have offered Woulard.

  • Ferguson has 3 state cham..and has played more at quarterback..and tough as nails

its tough call..ferguson is proven winner at the quarterback and if he hadnt broke his thumb
whos to say he couldnt have advanced further?
could compare it to a manning & tee martin having both cant hurt..worley and peterman
will be the same thing this coming year..however under jones peterman might be our best bet
who knows..if we can land the both..ide take both..but they need to honor riley's offer either way.

  • Ankle break, ankle break, ankle break - I am pretty sure that the larger schools have stayed away due to that. The severity of the break. I am thinking of the right recruit, aren't I?

  • Both if there's room. Ferguson because of his talent and staying commited thru all the coaching changes. Woulard based on his potential and I think he fits well in the offense Jones wants to run.

First I've heard of Wouldard breaking his ankle

    I agree

  • I would rather have Woulard. He's raw, but his upside is tremendous. Coach Jones could wreak some havoc offensively with his talent. That's not to take away from Ferguson; he's solid, but like another poster said, he's more built for the Jim Chaney offense than coach Jones' offense IMO. Of course, having them both wouldn't hurt either. biggrin

yes, apparently he did have a pretty bad ankle break at the end of his HS season.

I think it's real simple....either we here about Coach Jones on a plane to florida to see him either today or tomorrow....or we're not recruiting the kid. Dean period is Sat night and Woulard is announcing Jan 5th.

I agree. Sign them both. Let them fight it out in practice.

  • Here's the thing about the Elite 11, Ferguson had just broken his thumb on his throwing hand, and he still came out a performed reasonably well. So i don't think that he is anything like Bray.

The other thing to, is that Woulard has only played QB for a year. He is incredibly raw and would be a decent project for anyone to undertake.

I don't know anything about anyone's personality, but i think that Ferguson might be a little more prepared to be a QB at UT than Woulard is at this point. Not to say his upside isnt higher, just saying that Ferguson doesnt have as far to go to be a good QB right away.

That being said, we should try and bring them both in if possible

    Jestrad28

  • the thing i was worried about was one maybe decommiting if the other came because they obviously both know each other... and i think the upside of woulard being that he could always take off running which is always a plus in college ball and i think he would fit the offense better.

and the similarities of bray and ferguson to be were just kinda personalities and seems to have a big arm and accurate. stinks he was hurt though so we could have seen his full potential

  • You guys realize that Ferguson can run and has won championships (multiple) in a spread offense in high school, right?

  • If he does land at UT, he's going to land at NCST. and become the second coming of Jordan Lynch for Coach Doeren.
