Well, in their defense, I learned about that story on TOS shortly after it first hit the presses, and Mom was giving interviews with the media shortly thereafter, so I think she's pretty well consented to being identified. The son was later convicted, in large part, because her later testimony about consent was contradicted by her earlier comments about force being used.

In any event, one of the oldest sayings in the book is that you can't rape the willing, and if SHE is now saying it was not rape, how can the media be condemned for identifying a rape victim who now herself says she was not raped?

Further, if a guy is on trial for raping his mother, even if you don't use her name, it's usually pretty easy for someone to figure it out once the Defendant's name is made public.

Again, RTATL, I ain't disagreein' w/you in the slightest about the good, moral basis for the general rule which applies in most circumstances, but this circumstance is about as far away from "usual" as you can get.

Paul Finebaum and those like him are nothing more than Jerry Springer on the radio. His opinion and those of his listeners and callers holds no more weight than yours or mine. His sole purpose is to entertain and he uses sensationalism to do so. It's like listening to a circus act, but it doesn't provide anything important or newsworthy. On the topic, Ole Miss fans are the most irrational fans in the SEC - and it's really not close.

You get it, Volballer. Finebaum and Travis and others of that ilk are merely entertainers. There's no reason to get worked up about anything you hear on those shows. They are meant to entertain one fan base while upsetting another. I don't get upset about what Paul says and does because his core audience is Alabama and Auburn fans and he does all he can to set them against each other and set both against the other SEC schools.

When I tune in, I often find it hilariously funny, especially when he gives one of his "regulars" the podium.
