I agree volbol. I know we have fallen on hard times but I don't understand why we haven't landed a stud rb yet. Maybe it is due to the program's instability? Win-loss record over the yrs? Maybe things will turn around soon.

It's very amazing how angry they get. I went to Vandy and have always kept up with their team since, largely because I was a tutor there and had some friends on the team. I got a vandysports.com account to follow them and started posting there, and the ensuing meltdown was epic.

I never knew these people even existed, but they freaking hate UT fans. HATE. I was always very objective on their board and didn't try to rile them up, but every thread I posted in turned into the longest running, most viewed thread on the board.

They viewed that message board as their own little private hideaway from the trials of being a Vandy fan in UT's state. The fact that I had gained entrance to their little internet sanctuary drove them bonkers.

It was so ridiculous that the board's moderator had to ask me to stop posting, and sent me this long e-mail about how he was embarrassed that his board's members couldn't be more civil, but he had to keep his customers happy. It was all very bizarre. Huge overreaction. Bama fans and everyone else post on here occasionally, and at worst they get a little hazing, but no one flips out.

must be the "Franklin effect"... i graduated from Vandy back in 89 and would go to the Football games when UT would come in and the students and fans took their beating like good sports. i think it was the inevitability of it all. Now, with Franklin have a bit of success, some of the fans are starting to puff up their chests and get a bit mouthy.. It's alright. They so rarely have any opportunity to crow, might as well give them their day, cause it wont last long.

Visited there to take the aviation medevac course. Memories: 1). More women on a post than I,'ve ever seen----all those nurses and the bar at the officers club was full of them every night 2). The post is right in the middle of town---- not out in the boondocks. 3). Most laid back mil installation I was ever on----again all those nurses and docs, just like MASH. Anyway thanks for your service.
