Just doesn't make sense

Hugh Freeze is doin work, that's for sure.

I don't know how they are doing it. Maybe they are cheating like everyone else. Who knows? But geez louise. They are pretty much a shoe-in for signing a top ten class just one year removed from back-to-back 2 win seasons.

Freeze is absolutely killing it. Recruiting like a mad man after surprising the world with the 4th ranked offense in the SEC.

That's why it looks so funny, they've struggled to recruit top 30 classes recently. We have a lot more tradition, much better facilities, better stadium and fan base and we can't even get that many 5 stars to even OV, let alone sign with us. Freeze's first year was 7-6, not exactly earth shattering and definitely not a top ten recruiting class worthy especially at Ole Miss, JMO.

Idk man.. maybe recruits saw what he was able to do with scrubbs and were intrigued? It does look funny though. I'm not surprised that they are dominating the state. I've lived here my whole life and went to school in Starkville.. I can't figure out why anyone would State over Ole Miss but it does happen. But man it is crazy that they are beating out Alabama, LSU, Tennessee, Georgia..

It's possible that these kids got together and agreed to change the college football landscape and saw a great opportunity to do it at Ole Miss. So until proven guilty, I'll give Freeze the benefit of the doubt.

Hugh Freeze is legit. He's a solid Christian that is getting his kids to believe in a system. He had his players playing extremely well for him last year and were about 2 minutes of playing from winning two more games. It just shows that if a coach can get people to believe in a system, then they will come down and play hard. He'll continue to recruit Mississippi well (which has talent), and he'll have an impact on Memphis as well with his background coaching there.

Just goes to show that you don't have to win before recruiting the best players in the country.

I don't think there's a secret formula to recruiting. It's about getting 18 year old kids to believe yours is the best place for them. I had a GREAT coach tell me one time that coaching boils down to one thing only. When I asked him what it was he said, "I have to get my 11 to be better than his 11." That's it. Recruiting is much the same way. If you get 18 year old kids believe your place is the best place for them for whatever reason, they will sign with you regardless of whether you're 14-0 or 0-12.
