  • Now I am a football coaches son and I know my fair share of football when I really want to get serious and talk about it.... but I wasn't around for the glory days. I'm currently in college and the last time I remember us doing anything good when I actually knew what was going on was the year we were beaten by LSU in the SEC champ game. So from the time when I started to really understand the complexity of football was when Fulmer started to go out the door. I've never really experienced a great Tennessee team. I am frustrated and tonight was just a kick to our program while we were already down. Just wanted to let the older guys know that there are some loyal young fans that don't hop on Oregon and other team's bandwagons. I truly believe this program will build its way back up. I hope i'm right because i'm in it for the long haul. Don't give up the hope and keep going to games. We'll find a coach. The fanbase sticking together might be the most important thing besides the coaching hire for this program right now. One thing Dooley installed that I really like was the vfl program. I hope that we will all be a vfl. Don't stop believing.... we just need to play some journey on this board... VFL

If I were your Dad I would be extremely proud. I'm one of those 'old Vol fans' and proud that we have young fans like you. +1

VFL, I'm 18 years old and I feel your pain. I'm a young UT fan who has seen the worst. But, like you, I haven't jumped ship to Oregon or Bama or LSU or anyone else. I've bled orange since I came out of the womb, and that will never change. About the farthest back I can remember is the '04 Florida game where we won on that Wilhoit field goal. Beyond that is a blur to me. Like you, all I can seem to remember are bad or mediocre Tennessee teams. I haven't been around long enough to see a great UT team. However, I also feel like Tennessee will be back one day. I know we will. We're Tennessee for cryin out loud! We have been too good for too long to just disappear into the sunset. Look at Notre Dame and Alabama, (who BTW will be playing for the NC this year) those programs went through YEARS, and in Notre Dame's case, DECADES before they reached championship level football. The way I see it; the FDA says I've got about another 57 years to live, so I'd like to think that some time within the next 57 years, that Tennessee will be back. Our time will come, fellow Vols. Our time will come. Maybe it's because I'm young and energetic, but I still haven't lost hope. I still believe. Don't give up guys, because one day Tennessee will be hoisting the BCS Trophy after a National Championship victory, and we'll be able to say that we stuck with Tennessee through it all.

    Go Vols
