From what I gather on Tee

Large buyout if he leaves for a similar position, but if he is a coordinator he is free to leave with no buyout, I am sure Tennessee has told Jones we aren't paying a buyout to USC and Kiffin, so if he comes he will be given a coordinator role or "title" to get around that buyout. Its been done 100 times, its just working around the specifics in his contracts which could take a little time. I think of Eddie Gran as one that took a while because they had to work around his contract.

Would Asst. HC qualify or does it have to be coordinator specific? If it does not have to be a coordinator I say slap the title on him and call it a day.

Wow I hope that's how we do USC. Didn't they screw us on Monte Kiffin's buyout to UT by screwing with his title?

I don't think you will see passing game coordinator, coaches can make him an associate head coach and it should work, just depends on how his contract is worded. He could be the Recruiting Coordinator and that may work. Takes time to work threw these type of things.
Remember Eddie Gran when he was leaving to go to FSU? FSU had to figure out a way around his contract, sounds like Kiffin likes to make them difficult to work around.

Yep, they made coach O the DCord so they didn't have to pay Monte's or Coach O's buyout

For instance
Eddie Gran went from Tennessee Asst. Coach / Running Backs / Special Teams to FSU Associate HC / Special Teams Coordinator / RB Coach
He was given the title of Associate HC coach which means nothing, and Special Teams Coordinator, which is the same thing as being over Special teams. All to avoid a buyout, IMO that is what we are working through right now. Would have been a lot easier if Dooley would have maned up and just hired him away from UK.
