Here's a great story about how well Waffle House is run: My old boss was friends with the upper management of Waffle House. One day he calls one of them up and he invites him to lunch with two other Waffle House executives. So he meets them at Waffle House Headquarters in Norcross and they tell him they are going to eat lunch at Waffle House. So off they all go and they drive pass a Waffle House, then another and another. Finally they pull into a Waffle House, go inside and sit down to order. The first Waffle House executive orders a bacon cheeseburger. The second Waffle House executive orders a bacon cheeseburger. Then the third Waffle House executive orders a bacon cheeseburger. My old boss figures "what the hell, these must be good bacon cheeseburgers" and orders one for himself. So the bacon cheeseburgers arrive and immediately the three Waffle House executives pull off the bun and start counting the bacon slices on the cheeseburger. One of them said, "I knew by the amount of bacon they were ordering that they were giving the customer too much bacon. We'll get that corrected ASAP." If that doesn't speak to a tightly run organization I don't know what does.
