***Fun Hump day question for the board***

  • If money was no object in building your own man cave, what would you have in it?

Is have 2-3 flat screens, wet bar, and I would hire Gus Johnson to do all my play by plays.

  • I would, of course, have Tennessee stuff everywhere and have a tv good enough to watch all my teams on it, but if I had to be truthful my man cave would be video game based not sports based...Athletics rule every other part of my life, video games are my man cave time. Basically I would just duplicate this:

  • I would put in an iMax projector for the main screen. The three smaller screens would be the HDK Super HD screens (google it if you haven't heard of them). I'd have about four rows of lazy boy recliners installed stadium style. I'd put in top-of-the-line theater surround sound as well.

I would also hire the crew from EA Sports to record John Ward and have them develop software that would allow me to substitute his commentary in for all of UT's games.

In the back of the room, I would put a wet bar that is constantly stocked with all the topshelf drinks.

As far as food goes, since I'm no longer in Knoxville, I would have Litton's burgers and steaks from the Copper Kettle flown in before all UT home games.

That's sounds sweet. Stadium style lazy boys and John Ward voice is a nice setup

Yeah thats pretty much every gaming system ever. and you can see all his games in some of the pictures. I mean, its insane...i would have to win the lottery to be able to do that. Or else this guy ate Ramen for 10 years. But I'm speaking out of jealousy....I would kill for that set up. Although I may kill myself with it, people would have to bring food to my door.

Gus Johnson? Really? To each his own I guess. I'm with you on the rest though.

  • I would love to have the whole sports bar type set up, but right now I get by fine. I have 84 " projection screen on the top half of the wall and a 70 inch mitsibishi 1080 under neath it. I also have an old sanyo hanging on the other wall which is going to a flat screen soon. Everyone that comes over is like why do you need all that? Then I either turn on two football games, or turn on the game and flip on the xbox and then they get it lol

  • Several very large T.Vs with all the sports packages, a big bar and stocked fridge. Exit to a giant outdoor kitchen (grill, stove tops, etc). Several Leather recliners. I would also have a few Card tables and pool table with power T's on the balls. I'd also have a walk in humidor.

    1. A pool table like the baseball team has in their complex. (I have pics of it)
    2. 3 42" HDTVs with DVRs
    3. L-shaped computer desk with my desktop and MBP on there, along with videoconferencing/podcasting equipment.
    4. Black granite wet bar with Fat Tire and Guinness on draft.
    5. 2 32" HDTVs for gaming
    6. XBox 360
    7. Patio doors opening up to a brick pizza oven and BBQ grill
    8. 60" TV with 7.1 surround sound for movies.
    9. A side room filled with autographed NASCAR and UT memorabilia.
    10. A generator to keep the man cave powered in case of storms or other outage-causing events. (also goes on patio, just wired into room wiring)
    11. 4 leather theater-style recliners (with the cup holders and fold out trays)
    12. Fully stocked fridge
    13. Remote-controlled dimmable lights
    14. Dedicated fiber line for internet access (this probably means Chattanooga and their 1 gigabit fiber).

Very detailed list, really like the internet idea.

  • I would not want multiple TV's, I would want one big screen projector. If I am going to be having an event it would be likely be around a singular event, most likely a UT away game.

So about 120" screen (I already have 100"), but super high quality.
Top of the line surround sound system
A couple or three rows of recliners (stadium style)
    Bar setup in rear

I want multiple TVs for the NFL season, March Madness, and NBA Playoffs. Also, multiple DVRs means I can record any other games/events.
