    A three-star defensive end from LaGrange, Ga., who admittedly has been leaning toward Tennessee for months says he verbally committed to the Vols on Wednesday.

    Wouldn't necessarily call it good news. This puts us at 19, we can only take 6 more players. We need at least 7 or 8 really good players to round out this class.

  • This looks like the kind of kid that Stanford or Bill Parcells builds 3-4 defenses out of. There might be guys with quicker get offs, but those 3-4 ends need to be tall and strong first and foremost. That's how you take away the middle of the field intermediate routes and get tipped passes when they do try those throws.

    Lots can happen btw now and NSD........I have always thought 2+ dont make it to UT thats currently committed. Easy to see 2 of them. It appears we will try to sign 25 too rather than the 22-23 projected months ago.

    There is always room for top recruits IF this staff or IF there is a next staff can get them.

  • Vanderbilt, South Florida and Western Kentucky? Seriously? And we are offering him in November? Isn't this they kind of guy you offer at the last minute when you didn't get the four star guy that went to Florida? I try not to be too critical but doesn't this somehow speak to the level of talent we are recruiting and then putting them on the field against Oregon, Alabama, Georgia South Carolina and Florida and then stare in amazement as they can't get off blocks or run as fast as the other guys receivers and backs?

    Totally agree............who wants Patrick Willis! Oh ya..........only Ole Miss. Idiot Rebels!. explode

    (and yes......I get nothing is guaranteed that he will be all pro or all sec but look at our 5 stars of late and the odds on those too.....we have had more of a chance to evaluate and get to know this young man who is 6-5 270 already)

    I will agree we need to close this class with elite guys and we still can but we have to win and then still have work to do. Remember, most think we are only at about 17.......that leaves space for 8 more IMO.
