We've thought all along that Butch Jones wants this job. I suspect he turned down Purdue and is holding off on Colorado just to see what we will do. If he wants us so badly that he would turn down Purdue and Colorado, then maybe he's our guy after all.
I cannot believe Hart and Cheek have been sitting around on their cheeks for two months doing nothing on this. Both ought to be fired.
I want someone who believes in our program and wants the job. From what I've heard and read, Jones wants it. If that is accurate, I say give it to him, rather than continuing to beg these other guys.

While I've been pretty set against Butch Jones from the start, I would have to say at this point, I agree that we need someone who WANTS the job. Not sure if that is Jones or not. One thing about Dooley is he did embrace UT, if only he could have actually coached.
Butch Jones does seem to want the job and unlike Dooley he is 50-27 overall in his two jobs up to this point. Heard Mort on espn talk really highly of him recently.
I am conflicted:
I don't want anyone Derek Dooley beat....but the last guy to go Cent Mich to Cincy to (big-time job) was Brian Kelly. That worked out pretty well I'd say
"Count it down with me. Five, four, three, two, one.
The national champion is clad in Big Orange!"
The problem is apparently no one that is good enough to coach here wants it......
Agree with you DH. Put this in the Jones thread a few posts down the page:
He has a better resume than Strong as a head coach. There was a thread last night hitting the highlights comparing and contrasting the two. Only question I had was his recruiting in south but it was brought up where he had recruited in past for Cincy and he had several players from TN Fla Ga Tex and Calif.
wouldnt be dissapointed with Butch Jones
IT TAKES NO TALENT TO HUSTLE
Get Butch Davis -
