Is highly regarded all over national coaching circles and has had his teams play "above" their talent level at every stop, including injury riddled Miami. Not as down on him as many others.

I don't think he's anybody's #1 choice, but if your fall-back is Al Golden that's not a bad thing IMO. Good to know he wants the job to, fans would buy in quick...
Something he did immediately when he was hired at Miami was he told all former players are welcome back at any time. Something you didn't hear from Dooley.

Al Golden holds a lifetime Head Coaching record of 40-45. In 7 years of being a head coach he has had only 3 winning seasons.

He's a winner and a meticulous coach who can focus Bigtime. He's the kind of coach to have as well as guide the program to higher plains!
