Gosh-awful Effort at Thompson-Bowling tonight!

  • I can't remember the last time I switched off the game like I did tonight in utter disgust. Of course, I tried a sneak-peak off and on but couldn't take it when that Rebel jackass showed his true colors. No hustle, no heart tonight... Martin needs to earn his first technical to light a fire under this team. It was like the team resigned themselves to a doomed season without their leader.

You mean the Rebel player that torched us and was showing emotion? Have you ever played sports and if so have you ever been in the zone at one point and showed emotion? I'm pretty sure every former sports player can say that he has. If your not talking about that emotion after the 3rd 3 in about 5 possessions then I do not know what you are talking about.

There is emotion and pride, and then there was the disrespectful cocky bull---t that Henderson was doing. A Pearl team would have given him a hard foul to face. And at some point this season, somebody will. Credit where it's due, he played great, but there is no place for that crap in a college basketball game.

I understand where you don't do that on the road, but what is the difference when our players do that after they force another coach to call a timeout on our homecourt? I saw the whole team do it when we forced Memphis to call a timeout last game in our hectic comeback.

You should go read what some of the beat writers who were at the game were saying about this kid. His antics are not even close to that. This guy has a rep already, and he's living up to it. Will be the most hated player in the SEC before the season is over.

  • Come on, Woody. My comment of no hustle or no heart is referring to the Vols. Inept is another word I could use. And for your information, I have played back in the day. The point is, the players play with the same understated approach as their coach. I guarantee Henderson will carry his act too far down the road.

  • I wanted to introduce Henderson to an arm bar. His antics were more than just being in the zone. The kid has a chip on his shoulder the size of a truck and he will end up getting his head knocked off before it is said and done.

As for our team, they played hard for about a half, it almost seems like they just didn't feel it tonight. Truly the ref's were not helping at all either. We committed a lot more fouls than we normally do, at least it seemed that way during the game.

  • I have no problem with Henderson. He was fantastic tonight and was clearly what we are missing. A big time guard that can play. His emotion would have been our emotion if we had his skill sets.
