  • This is just great! I would like for someone to convince me that we're going to be able to attract any top RB recruit now unless we make a super fantastic replacement hire. Every time I think things are looking up we get bad news. It's getting a bit stressful to be a UT fan these days. GBO anyway.

    Jabo Lee was the RB that signed. Though it is possible for him to change schools, it is highly unlikely. He must first secure a release from UT and then reopen his recruitment. Not many schools will grant a release just because a position coach left. I'm sure W/K/R could answer this better, but I'm willing to go out on a limb and say we won't lose anyone as a result of Graham leaving. This also should not have a major impact on next years class considering that signing day is 11 months away and all the recruits will have the opportunity to watch a hopefully improved team on the field this year.

    thnaks for answering these question's ,just got back from the doctor and seen coach jones leaving
    and i was like wtf,here we go again.
    again this could be a blessing we dont even know it,ide have more respect if he would have left at season end,on the other hand it could have killed us with some recruites.
    maybe this gets iron out and land some one better anyways.
    graham did help the running backs a ton last year,on the other side of recruiting who did he land tho
    no big names unless im forgetting im still drug up a bit from my back ,just getting back from the doctors
    so look over me some plz..just upset is all....go vols

    I feel like kickin' somebodies a++--- a horizontal move just doesn't make sense unless there is a lot more money. When is this crap gonna end and we get some stability in the program. Something is wrong when one of your best former players just up and leaves. There is no loyalty in college football these days---just a money pit where coaches and recruits are digging like a bunch of boar hogs for all they can get.

    I agree +1. No loyalty. Especially in jay graham. I think butch appears to be a very loyal and good man. Hopefully ut can grow from him.

  • Why is everyone so butt hurt? They guy left on a career move to help better himself and his family. Think staying as just a rb coach is a good way to become a HC one day? Geeze people, I know it is crazy to think about, but some people think of 10 years down the road instead of just tomorrow.

    No really, Jones is all talk. Proven winner my butt. Winning in the BIG SEC is totally different and come this fall we will see. The truth is we are way behind the top teams in the conference and the hole gets deeper with each change that takes place. It's ok to be optimistic but I just don't think he knows what he is dealing with nor do some fans see what I see. I see that its gonna take time and Jones and crew will be out in 2 to 4 years because they couldn't win enough. UT fans can be brutal when the coach doesn't win and I just know the coaching staff will see some of that this fall when we start out 2 and 4. If I'm wrong I will be the first to say it but thats just what I see.

    VERY STRESSFUL. It seems as if we get bad news every 2 or 3 months. Another step back if you ask me.

    So we went from Graham and Tee Martin to zero ex vols on the coaching staff. The best coaches in the country could not recruit better than a 20th. ranked class with very very little nfl experience. Good luck we are not moving forward at all. It doesn't take an einstein to figure out Jones is alot of talk and no walk. Say it ain't so but further proof will be next fall. It is sad. Would we not have been better off with Greg Roman?????????????????????????????? To answer my own question maybe this recruiting class would have been more negatively affected but in the coaching and long run we probably would have been much further ahead. Besides that if you recall the Partriots have released coaches before the end of their playoffs were complete. Not un common in the NFL during coaching season changes for someone who is recieving a promotion to head coach.

    CBJ and his staff had a total of 31 days to bring UT from 38th in recruiting to 20th!!! What the hell are you talking about? Seems like a hell of an accomplishment to me! Really,Greg Roman? Guess you are a San Fran fan, huh? And if Tee & Graham didn't want to be part of UT coaching staff, SO WHAT!!! Just because they are alumni doesn't mean they have to be loyal to UT, they only have to be loyal to the people that really matter most....THEMSELVES & FAMILY!
    Just curious, how many alumni are on that staff in Tuscaloosa? They seem to be doing pretty good,too!
    FWIW, The grass is always greener, but you still have to mow it!!
