I think a lot of us see UT as more than a company that pays us to do a job, it is something like family that we love and wouldn't betray or leave for anything, especially when it is down. It is sort of goofy I quess to feel that way.

Yes, we do because we are fans and we are emotionally invested.
But to coaches, this is a business and a profession and they make non-emotional decisions based on what is best for their families and their careers.

I hate to see JG go but at the end of the day all I want is "W's" on saturdays in the fall so thanks to Jay and I wish the best for him & his family.I'm behind our HC & staff and I believe coach Jones will hire a postion coach that wants to be at Tennessee and will coach our young men up & go compete everytime our team steps on the field.Go Big Orange!!!!!!

I think Jay should have been released from day one, it felt like CBJ's was placating the fan base by retaining JG..A clean slate for our new HC is exactly what was needed. JG had to feel uncomfortable after seeing all his friends get the ax. And like a prior post mentioned he landed nary a big time recruit this past NSD..So, good luck JG and better luck to CBJ's finding a solid replacement..GBO!!

As a fan I feel the same way. My point was it is the way these guys take care of their families. If it was for more money and more responsibility. then I see why he did it.

Vol For Life??? Yea right. This makes my heart hurt. It appears money is more important to Jay than an opportunity to coach at his alma mater and help bring us back to national prominence.

This one really shocks me. Can't find anything from Graham himself. Some parting words? Some gracious expression of gratitude to all the UT fans who have loved him and supported him and wanted him to stay on staff more than ANYONE ELSE! Come on, Jay. I know it's a business, but show the Vol Nation at least a little class. The silent exit is tasteless.

You know, I've got to agree with you, for the most part. It would have soothed a lot of wounded Orange pride if he would have just made a statement with the standard, "I'm doing what I think is best for my family" and saying thank you for the support.
Would have really helped the situation, IMO

I've been at work and driving most of the day and unable to post..... I think we need to respect the fact that jay has made a decision that was in the interest of his career and or family..... I was shocked but we have to move on and embrace whomever cbj and staff hires ..... Long ways to September and nsd 14'
