And for those who know soccer:
I was overall pleased with our performance. For the 1st year in quite a while, I feel like the mistakes we made are all immediately correctable. The defense will only improve as the season goes along, and I think it will be ready come Fla game. I think the running game will vastly improve over the season, and this may be too optimistic, but I think we'll be able to get 200 yds on the ground most games once they make a few adjustments. Just hope Lathers isn't banged up too bad. Besides being our QB on D, he's been through so much in his life. I'd love to see him get some much deserved, consistent success.
Our short game stalling is the most irritating to me. Like when we got inside the 5, i think from Marlin's long run, we ended up with only a field goal. And of course the hurry up sneak surprised me. I was expecting to line up and try to pound it in. Overall the team played good, but there's always room to improve. And it's nice to nitpick for a change instead of having to talk about our obvious major flaws.....
The D played like I expected. We were disruptive and caused plenty of turnovers. We have a talented secondary that knows how to make plays and they came through for us with the help of a pass rush.
As far as our secondary goes, I'm more pleased with them then I thought I would be. I'm amazed they got 4 picks against such a good QB(although that last one was a bit of a cheapie). I know a good QB is going to get some yards on a good secondary, but I wonder how good ours really is. I mean, I know they've still got a lot to work on and a ways to go, but I'm a bit worried about how they'll do against a good SEC QB like Murray.
just glad to win that first game of the year and be able to go into the FL game 2-0 ; think we will get better with time and do think we are putting the right pieces in place for the future . Lathers has to somehow stay healthy this year if we are going to have any chance of beating the Ga , SC , Miss St and Mizz
we've got some kinks 2 work out but i think for ateam thats learning a new system we didn't look 2 bad.
1 thing i'm a little worried about is the quarterback being able 2 run a few times. if that quarterback can run on us then florida's,georgia, alabama's and afew more will eat us alive. i think if we will keep containment though we can limit that some.
GO BIG ORANGE!!!
GO BIG ORANGE!!!
If we roll into the Bama game undefeated we will win.
1 Corinthians 16:13 Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.
Things that rubbed me wrong IF I was picky which I am:
1. QB sneak when its unnecessary plus how hurried/ rushed we were when we did it with a timeout. We looked panic'd and we were dominating the game and on the inch line. Settle down. Score.
2. Dont qb sneak the rest of the year with a qb that has shown he is just not good at it numerous times....plus dont risk him to injury when he is by far our most valuable player.
3. Never rush just 3 players until late in the game and up a ton......dropping 7 players should be plenty even against 4 WRs.
4. No screens or RB check downs or wheel routes to Neal and that is his strength probably. Maybe hiding this for FL?
5. We were rushed/hurried inside the 10 another time later in the game which prob. cost us pts......need to settle down.

Am I the only one having trouble adjusting to the pace of the offense? No time to rest! You have to be super alert at all times.
Dude....did you watch Alabama? They just reloaded. They are much better than I thought they would be. They are big, strong and fast...and they play smart. I honestly think Tennessee is much better, but not at that level...YET! GBO
