Grudens 5 year extension with ESPN

He signed this in October 2011. Anyone know how it works if he leaves? Buy out?

Am sure there is no buy out to go back to coaching, but am sure there is a non-compete clause so he cant take another broadcasting job

Unlike contracts for college coaches, the terms of a contract with ESPN/NFL/etc don't have to be made public, so oftentimes the only information you will get are the dollars and length of the contract. I don't believe there was any buyout because ESPN always knew that it was possible for Gruden to return to coaching. I think the new contract was just to make it harder for him to say yes to whichever organization came calling.
