The CheckerBoard

Which would be a first for me. I have had football coaching and playing dreams in the past but never basketball.

In the dream, we're playing Mizzou in what looks like a high school or rec plex and losing by a small margin. That's when Pat Summit (did I mention dream?) sent me in with the big guys.

I'm 5'8 with bad feet and ankles. I haven't played basketball in three years and I just rolled an ankle thinking about playing.

I tried my best to stay out of trouble by passing the ball to everyone else but the Tigers left me open. Even in my dream, I apparently stink at basketball. I kept kicking the ball back to McBee and company.

After about a minute I was subbed out. I wasn't tired, I hadn't done anything. Still, as I went to the bench, Pat asked me to get her a bottle of Gatorade.

There you have it. My Road to Glory. The worst 12th man UT has ever had.
