    Harris was quoted today that he turned USC down and that he had the chance to go there and chose UT as it was better for him.

    Now maybe he could not go to USC today but he could have at some point. Great kid and commit.

    He had numerous reasons to choose UT over USC and did just that. His brother is at UT, he loves our coaches, and location for family and friends. (he spoke to all of these vs the "hype" of USC).

    USC had spots and based on Harris' own quotes he had the chance to go there and this is a kid that does not mix words.

    He makes tough catches and also key catches is what I have heard. He also gets open. He does not have the elite speed or anything like Hunter in athletic ability but no one else does either. He is a very good all around receiver and has good speed and great size and is a very very good kid.

    Offer list + everything I have read on his camps + film...........he is a top 25 WR and a 4*. JMO.

  • I think his ranking will eventually rise on here.. he is a 4* on TOS and I think ranked as a top 35 WR. I'd say he will rise some on 247...

    I am not sure when 247 re-evaluated him (a few camps have taken place) but in any case..........other sites have him as the following:

    4* WR and approx. 31st WR in the nation and 214th overall player in the nation and another has him as a 3* and 86th overall WR and another has him as a 3* and 74th WR in the nation. IMO look at some of the top offers that he had to choose from:

    UT
    USC
    Mich
    Mich St
    UNC
    NCST
    Ohio St
    VA
    Penn St
    Pitt
    Maryland
    Iowa
    Va Tech
    Wash
    Miss St

    The guy was very wanted and his film is very impressive. JMO he was one of UTs top targets at WR coming out of HS with Patrick and North and a few others.

    Another point I would like to make is at the WR position there are so so so many really good WRs. Its not the same for QBs and a few other positions. After the top 5-10 then there is not much of a drop off at WR and evaluations become key. I like to look at the offer lists for WRs

    Bingo! Haha just kidding, Congrats on reeling him in. Harris is an outstanding player and will make some big-time plays for the Vols. Anyway the 15'th spot was going to go to either Jalen Ramsey or Paul Harris, and with the Ramsey commitment the spot was occupied.

    ETA: Harris will almost certainly be a 4-star recruit after his senior season, maybe better.

  • Nice pick up Vols kid is a player. I don't really think it matters much why he chose UT, he is a stud and he wants to be in Knoxville. Y'all should be very pleased he is a big talent.

Well this should be a good consolation prize for UT since we went down into Tenn and took one of the Top CB in the country yesterday =) Fight On !

    We will see on who is the best WR duo on the field this year.........we have C. Patterson too that might really separate things. Both have elite talent for sure and it might be 1a 1b

    Keep it factual and classy buddy. We all have opinions but I have quotes on this one at least.

    What happened behind the scenes doesn't really matter and will most likely never be known. All that maters is he's a Vol and a good player, best of luck and look forward to seeing some of you when bama comes town.
