Haslam...Mike Holmgren....UTK....Conspiracy...

  • Sirius XM Radio noted today that Mike Holmgren hasn't ruled out returning to coaching....Could there be a deal going down behind closed doors with Mike Holmgren and the UTK Haslams? Coach Holmgren, no matter his lack of college experience would certainly draw attention from recruits and most likely put fans in the seats.

    Below is from Yahoo Sports.....

"Holmgren said he did not discuss a new ''credible'' position with Haslam, whose $1.05 billion purchase of the Browns was approved by the league's owners last week. Holmgren would like to stay on and assist Haslam as well as incoming CEO Joe Banner, the former Eagles president who will take over on Thursday, in the transition."

  • This is silly season...

Either Barack Obama or Mitt Romney will be looking for the next step soon as well. Can you imagine what kind of recruiting class a former president or presidential candidate could put together? I mean... think how persuasive they must be to get where they are. And the Haslams have been involved in politics. That makes it plausible, right?

Come on, Brisvol. You're better than this.

Uh ... doesn't the quote from the story say he did NOT discuss a "credible" position with Haslam?

  • He does say that he will not discuss a new "credible" postition with Haslam. But what does that mean? Can you answer that?

Same quote but from the New York Post this time.

  • Doesn't matter, Mike Holmgren has said he would consider getting back into coaching and his new boss is a Tennessee guy. I find that interesting. Not saying it's a lock, just saying that it's interesting.
