    Here's some valid points:

    - Alienation of many former players and others aassociated with the program.
    - Lack of substantial improvement on the field.
    - Combined record of 15-21 over three seasons, 1-16 in SEC play in the last two years
    - No wins over ranked teams
    - Complete lack of support from the fanbase, which means if he stays, nobody goes to the games.
    - Indifference towards recruiting in the tri-state area (see Sunday's Times Free Press for that story)
    - The 2012 defense couldn't stop an ice cube (with a DC Dooley hand-picked)
    - The boosters and donors wouldn't support another year of Dooley, so those contributions are gone as well
    - Student apathy towards the program in its current state
    - 0 for his career vs ranked teams

    There's some pretty good reasons in terms of performance, community relations, and economic to NOT bring Dooley back.

    Actually alaska, Dooley won TWO games in the SEC the last two seasons . . . .whistling

    The 2012 defense couldn't force the tide back out to sea given an entire day.

    Another great reason for not rehiring Dooley? He's the first UT coach to finish with a losing record in over a century? Last season was the first time in history that Tennessee finished in last place in any conference(including SIAA, SoCon and SEC)... He's by far the worst coach in UT history in terms of points allowed vs. points scored. Just under half our losses to South Carolina came under his watch.

    Our defense surrendered 428 points this season... prior to 2007 we'd never allowed more than 286 points in a season. Oh yeah, and we lost a game to Kentucky. That's enough to get you fired at Tennessee without all the other stuff.

  • Ok... I just saw your posts on 8th Maxim about how firing Dooley was the worst move since firing Randy Sanders. It's painfully obvious you are just another troll attempting to have fun at the expense of Tennessee fans. Eleventy-billion week free trials mean there will always be plenty of fake fans around posting bad information and/or trolling everyone else.

    I was thinking that instead of buyingout dooleys contract.. we re-hire him for less. Give him the certain goals.

    This is why dooley would accept a lower contract.

    1. You get the chance to coach 2. If he improves he is eligible for a raise 3. His name is out there for other jobs

    Postives for this as a fan.

    1. The chances of Keeping bray-cp-hunter goes way up 2. We get to see his classes pan out and become elite 3. Hes a nice guy who wants to win.

  • I think for a better idea to save the university money y not hire jim chaney keep the offense staff toghter better chance of keeping bray cp and hunter and change some of the defense staff promote conklin to defense coordinator and all you have to do is hire two more staff members at least he has a winning record in the SEC
