I think it would also be nice for said check not to bounce, and thus, you might want to do one additional thing before extending that offer--raise the money from donors, because it likely isn't in the account this second!

And the "blank check" approach is not anything any serious business would ever do, no matter how much you're prepared to pay--because he just might write in $100 million.

The $6-8 million per year suggestions are one thing; a "blank check" is entirely another. It's always interesting that, no matter the arena, everyone always seems eager to spend without regard to the budget when it ain't their money.

Caveat: Unless we're talking Bama trailer park residents, many of whom would send the infant to bed without formula to raise money to pay Saban's salary.

There is money at ut to make this happen I understand they reported a loss but if they want to make it happen the boosters will make it happen JMO

I've got a friend that works at Pilot and there is word going around that Haslam has told Hart that he will pay Dooley's buyout and pay the first year's salary of whoever we hire. Sounds like he is pretty serious about getting a big name coach.

Well, I was also making a very serious point with humor, which I believe you failed to get: that in the real world, no kidding, there are some Bama fans that desperate, and I would hope our fan base never would go that far.

However, it's funny (to some--not you, apparently, and as Jerry Seinfeld said, "not that there's anything wrong with that") not because starving infants are funny (I think we would all agree they are not), but because it insults the fan base of our biggest rival, as they'd actually be willing to do something horrible and immoral just to be sure their god, er, football coach is paid.

Do you not think that some Bama fans would slap their own wives if Saban told them to? Spousal abuse isn't funny, either, but I'll bet you anything you'd get a few takers.
