Didn't the guy just get in front of the faculty and say that there was no plan just a couple of hours ago? If so, then my guess is that the big money guys were pissed about that comment because they were afraid that it could mess up the deal with Jon. This was a statement made with a proverbial gun to his head after threats were made from big money donors. I would have loved to have heard said conversation. Cheek is a cancer to our university. It is time for a real leader in that position. We do not need an egghead who wants to pander to the academic faculty. If he can't understand the importance of the athletic department to a major university, then he isn't smart enough to hold such a position. I find this very fishy after his comments earlier today. Just further proof that this guy has got to go...
