The deal on Shannon is that Dooley wants the best possible candidate. He doesn't want to have to deal with all the problems that would happen if the guy he signs turns out to not be a big deal and causes him to lose his deal. Is Shannon the guy to save Dooley's deal? We don't know but we know Dooley is 'workin' like heck' to get a deal done but is it with Shannon is the deal. Him becoming the DC would be a big deal both from a DC standpoint and for the recruiting deals he could do. He has lot's of contacts in S. Florida and that's a big deal all by itself. Sources are saying that the deal is at the i dotting and t crossing stage and when these are done, if the source is correct, the deal will be announced. That announcement will be a big deal in VOL land and will maybe help UT land some big prospects, which is a big deal and solidify the recruiting class we already have which is a bigger deal. The bottom line to this whole deal is we don't know if a deal is being done or if this has all been a big deal over nothing and the parties mentioned have not been working on a deal.
