How many games does Dooley have to win next year

I'm guessing he'll probably finish in the 5-7 win range. Does he need 8, or would 6 or 7 suffice?

If Dooley doesn't beat Florida next year in Knoxville, he might be in some serious trouble... After today, the only way to redeem yourself is to beat good teams... Namely Florida and Alabama.

This whole situation isn't just about wins. We knew this year would be rough with our schedule. The problem right now is, there have been no improvement or adjustments made. Today was just pitiful from a pride standpoint. If he doesn't learn to prepare these kids better and make halftime adjustments. Wins won't really matter, because he won't have as many as this year. No more excuses next year about youth or injures. He has to show competitiveness and some heart!

I think 8+ wins and you won't see many complaints. 6 or 7 wins and his seat starts to get hot, but barring a disasterous 2012 campaign I think he'll be around for 2013 regardless. Hopefully this season's turmoil will make them go all in over the off season. Go Vols!

I think u are right. I will be disappointed with less than 8 wins, and will complain mightily, but I think Dooley gets 4 years either way. As much as it pains me to watch the Vols lose, firing another coach even as soon as next year would be the worst thing for the program for a variety of reasons. After the Kiffin debacle & subsequent roster depletion, the AD cant afford to be quick triggered. With less than 8 wins next year, I think Dooley will be forced to make major staff changes, but will himself get another year. Anyone know when the revamped schedules for next year will be out?

I was meaning pressure from the fan base. I think people will freak out with less than 8. I sure hope not though. I think in the next year or two we will look back and be greatfull that CDD is still here.

Put me on it. He's done horrible this year!! That doesn't mean he'll do bad next year, but I now have my doubts. Trust me, I'll gladly eat crow. I've been wrong before and I'll be wrong again. I want Dooley to succeed. If he doesn't, it's gonna be another 3 years before UT is even remotely relevant.
