Humor me for a few minutes on coaches....

  • I believe last night we saw the beginning to the end. I just don't see Dooley being here next year. So now we are in the position of searching for a coach again and turning our football program again. So what do we do? You all might want to put me in an institution after this but if I am AD here is what I do....I offer Phil a 3-5 year deal with a plan in place to have a coach in waiting that comes with an iron clad contract. Steady the ship and have a seamless transition. Phil also assures Graham staying and brings Tee Martin. My ideal staff would be this...

    HC-Fulmer
    OC/QB/Coach in Waiting-Jeremy Bates
    DC-Chavis

    WR-Martin
    RB/RC-Graham
    OL-Browning(with Fulmer involved again)
    TE/ST-Tim Brewster

    DL-Brooks
    LB-Al Wilson
    DB-Slade or Inky

    Sometimes you don't know how good you really had it until it is gone. Time to circle the wagons and I believe there is really only one man that can do that effectively. That is my two cents. Will it really happen? Nope. But I believe it would be a good move.

    No offense intended, but Fulmer again? Come on?!?!

    I knew it was only a matter of time before his name was brought up again. Fulmer is still unemployed for a reason. Let it go...

  • Browning can't get a job, Slade was fired by Strong at UT is probably the worst position ever at UT
    (Heistand a close second), Inky and Wilson have never coached....so real upgrade from what we have now.

  • Defensive staff I had to reach on and didn't really know where to go. Offensively I would be tickled. And yes, Fulmer again. He is unemployed because he didn't want to go to a mediocre school. Like I said, you don't know how good iyou had it until it is gone. We would be in better shape right now if he was here then we are right now.

  • Pittman is probably the best coach on our staff. He is a stud

  • We are in the shape we are in now partly because of his last few years. I'm not trying to pick a fight, but I'd have serious issues with him coming back and even more doubts if he brought that staff. Keep brainstorming, though.

  • I agree that the cupboard was left bare...but we also had a top 10 recruiting class before he was canned. I just don't know what else to do here guys. This sucks.

    haha, I feel your pain. The truth is that Hart has a major decision to make and he's paid millions to make that decision. Let's let him decide who's right for the job.

  • I don't think the coaches you laid out will be here next year but I do think Dooley will not be here next season I have said it before and will again he's in over his head just look at the last place he coached when he left there they were a 5-7 program at best he comes here now we're in the same shape and his old program just lost for their first game and was ranked in the top 25 I don't think he has it and will never get it I for one think if firing him will set us back a couple years so be it because in a couple years we will be in the same shape were in now let's not kid ourselves he's not exactly setting the woods on fire in recruiting and talent is not in the 3 stars all the time we need to get more of the 4 and 5 stars in here and that's not happening with this staff. All of this is JMO but I do think and have been told that many think th e same as me and will show in ticket sales
