I hate Vandy

  • Enough about coaches! It's Friday, and we play Vandy tomorrow. We cannot lose to them and miss out on a bowl game this year!
    I hope the team is more focused than the fans are.
    Go freakin' Vols!

  • +1 UTFPMD! They have only beat the Vols 4 times in my lifetime, but by listening to their fans, you would think they are ready for the SEC Championship. I despise everything about them, especially that bald headed censored they call a coach!

  • I grew up in Nashville and both my parents went to school there (VU) back in the 50's so I was a little brainwashed going to their games as a kid...as I got older I started becoming a UT fan and didn't totally hate VU till I went to a party on campus and when introducing myself to a couple of VU co-ed's, I was asked "what kind car do you drive"...yeah pretty much hated VU since then

    It sounds petty but I always got that kind of vibe from their students when on campus....silver spoon, trust fund, we're better than you feeling

    +1 and Go Vols. Just to lighten the mood but not detract from the thread I have a truly funny story about Vandy. My son was headed to football camp at Tennessee back during the Majors years. He was required to have a physical so I took him to a 'Doc in The Box' walk in clinic. It was a fairly standard exam up to a point when the Doctor looked at me and winked. He then started pulling a surgical glove on and made a point of aiming his forefinger at the ceiling as he pulled the glove on and said to my son "drop your pants and bend over the table". As my son began to comply the Dr. said "oh by the way, I am a Vandy grad and this won't hurt at all". The look of panic that came over my sons face was and is priceless to this day. At least some Vandy fans have a sense of humor. Come to think of it they would have to wouldn't they. vols

    A few years back I heard a story about Cafego when he was an old man. Someone asked him if he had any regrets from his UT playing and coaching days, a decision or play he wished he could do over. His reply was about a Vandy game that UT won something like 49 to 0. He said he wished they had gone for 2 after the last touchdown so that the score would have been 50 to 0.

    It's worth noting that Vanderbilt was the Vols' biggest rival and nemesis back in the day. When Gen. Neyland was given the head coaching job, his No. 1 stated objective was to beat Vanderbilt. Needless to say, he beat Vandy and just about everyone else.

  • James Franklin is a Narcissist, and I personally hope the team can hold it together long enough to pound Vanderbilt into submission. Franklin applies to most of these definitions of Narcissism.

    An obvious self-focus in interpersonal exchanges

    In other words. I hate Vandy and James Franklin
