I need help: We want Gruden because... ??

I know an assistant producer on Monday Night Football and Gruden has told them many times he doubts he leaves the booth. They upped his salary and he gets so much time off. He said the only 2 jobs he might look at are the Bears and Giants when Coughlin retires. College does not interest him because he hates sucking up to high school kids.

The article and segment by Jason LaCanfora today seems to dispute the "he doesnt want to coqch in college" thing. He reported that JG has already reached to certain potential staff members, and the questions to them was slanted towards the college game, recruiting, etc.
It very well could mean nothing, but Dave Hart owes it to us fans to make Gruden say "NO", and it better not be because we arent willing to pay for the HC we need like the other big programs have done. If we have to settle for another 3rd tier coach cause the AD wont pay, ill never donate another penny to the school and cancel my season tickets.

I think actually he said TN was a great place with a winning tradition. He said this when asked about the TN job back in the late spring/early summer in an interview. I should have worded that better but I do think he thinks more of TN than any other college job.

With all due respect, that's kind of a stock, playing nice answer to a reporter's question. It hardly is proof of honest love.

As a bucs fan...you don't. The guy destroyed our franchise. He was some hyped qb coach who couldn't develop one..took him leaving to make freeman good. He took apart a defense with four hofers and destroyed it. He will bring recruits....but he showed at Tampa he has no ability to develop. All of our draft picks seemed complete bust.

With John Gruden we'd get instant credibility. My son has quit watching UT football and has resorted instead to watching "The Greatest Plays in Tennessee history " DVD. How sad is that?

When the Hurricanes were looking for a head coach Gruden was in serious considerations but he was making some ridiculous requests. I think Charlie Strong would be the best candidate right now. Think about it Vols fans. He was was the DC for the Gators during their championship run. He's very familiar with the SEC and the competition and he knows how to recruit! Especially the state of Florida!
