If Jones becomes our next head coach...

  • I WILL support him. As a fan of the University of Tennessee football program, it is my duty to support the head coach as long as he remains here. Why is everyone crucifying Jones? He hasn't even taken the job yet, let alone coached a game for UT and we're acting like he just destroyed our program! Yes, he has something to prove and wasn't my first choice. However, if we do hire him, he deserves a chance. He deserves to have our initial support because he has not wronged us in any way whatsoever. In fact, he's doing us a favor by actually WANTING this job. Can't say that about Strong or Gruden or Gundy, can you? Give Jones a chance guys; he seems like an energetic, optimistic young head coach with a bright future. And right now, our program needs all the energy and optimism it can get. Would I rather have someone else? Yes, I would prefer Tuberville or Roman personally. However, if Butch Jones is named the head football coach, he will have my support from day one. I may not be screaming his name from the rooftops, but I'll root as passionately and fervently for his Tennessee teams as I have for every other Tennessee team. Bash me if you want, criticize me if you want, call me delusional, but that's just how I feel.

  • OmG were people not just saying we should support Dooley because he wanted the job when no one else did? We are back to that as a requirement. May not be a bad coach but kills the program next year. People will now wait until he is successful instead of jumping on this train from the beginning. 70K again next year.
