If our Crystal Ball was broken

  • Not sure at $30K we could fix it

Interesting report, but I do kinda doubt we only made 14,000 last year. I know we are down and have lots of money going out, but that would have to be a drop of drastic proportions for us to only bring in that kind of money

I can believe it. It was "Net" income not Gross. Did you see the number of employees we are laying off? That alone should generate a few Million.

  • Thats true, but We were so far below everyone else it seems surprising...could just have been a very lackluster year I suppose

The savings for those laid off was just over $1 million in salary. Attrition and other factors will save an additional $1.65 million.

I can tell from my season ticket literature that season tickets are down from last year and way down from a few years ago. In previous years you had Orange, White and Gray assigned parking zones. This year only Orange and White are assigned with Gray to be used as needed. That loss of revenue hurts. Winning would change that.

  • One phone call to Jim Haslam is all that is needed.

  • People don't realize that it cost a lot of money to run an athletic department due to all the small sports that needs big money too... This is the main reason that college athletes aren't paid too

This. UT is one of only a handful of schools that turn a profit in its athletic programs. In fact, athletics contributes a few million to the general scholarship fund each year. I have no clue where that site is getting its numbers from, but they're so far off the mark that it's not even funny. I think that site must be counting those contributions as "expenses", which would throw the numbers off. Also, the current AD reorganization was set in place before Hart was even hired, as that was the route UT chose to take when Hamilton stepped down and they made Cronan acting AD.
