If the Vols ever take the field in some of these "costumes"

  • I'm not find of the sky blue... Unless it is broken out as a tribute to what Pat has done for us after she retires. I could get way behind that.

    I know those uniforms were just mock ups, but for conversation, I would say that if Tennessee did change the uniforms then it should be a simple change. I would put the black tops with the white pants that have the stripes or the ones that said "Vols." the checkerboard pattern and the blue are too much. Personally, I would love it if they just threw in the black jerseys from 09 into the regular rotation. If they are winning games, then I wouldn't care if they showed up wearing Maryland's helmet, a Boise top and Clemson's purple pants.

    i agree with this..i loved the black in 09.i was there and it was awesome to see the team come out in the black.i like the uniforms now but alittle change wouldnt hurt a thing.

    I liked the black jerseys, too. Neyland was electric that rainy night when they came out in them.

    That was an unforgettable game and evening. We got stuck in the mud parking in a field on Forest Avenue. While pushing our van free, mud flew up and covered my sister in law. Everyone except her laughed themselves silly.

    There are a couple that look pretty good Jdb, but I must be too old of a traditionalist . . . simply do not like the checkerboards on the uniforms.

    I might could live with these but not the checkerboard.

    I may have to rethink my allegiance to the Big Orange! Some of the uni design are impressive, but the Vols' not so much.

    Honestly i love the black with checkerboard. The other one just isn't working lol

  • I really like our uniforms the way the are with just our normal changes we have made over the past years like the orange pants or adding stripes on the white pants but i really hope we do not go the Oregon route with all the different uniforms.Tennessee is one of the most winning programs with over 100 yrs of tradition and i hope that Dooley and Hart maintain and respect the all the history and tradition that the orange & white has produced over the years IMO. megaphonevols

  • It all boils down to what you are about. I've got a pair of Ray Ban aviators that were designed back before World War II. When my kids were in middle school they used to needle me about those glasses, said they were SO out of style. I told them these glasses ain't EVER going out of style. Today they both have a pair.

    Same with uniforms. Kids may get "excited" about dressing like a space alien, but that kind of kid is also going to chap your fanny because he was so jazzed he forgot to stay in his lane on kickoff coverage.

    People say they want something different. Well, that plain PMS 151 orange shirt IS different. No other school in the country wears that color. Adding checkers and logos and odd colors is like dumping diet coke in fine old bourbon.

  • I don't care what they wear as long as they win.

    If black jerseys with pink polka-dots inspire the team, great for them.

    I'll just listen to the game on the radio instead of watching it...

  • The people who write the big checks have lived long enough to appreciate the difference between style and fashion. That's a good thing.
