If we hire Jimbo Fisher

I will no longer have any faith in anything Hart does. Please tell me what he's done at FSU. 2 #1 classes and can't beat UF or go undefeated in the ACC. Sorry, we can do better than him. Hell, FSU fans down here are begging us to take him.

I actually wouldn't mind Fisher because I think he is a very good recruiter. I am curious what his staff would look like...since he's a done deal....Does anyone have any idea who would be on his staff?

Eddie Gran is his recruiter.
Guys, please understand. When FSU is good at all, Florida kids flock there. This is not the same at UT.

You answered your own question.
He beat UF last year, IIRC. The 5 turnovers really hurt in 2012.
He didn't go undefeated, you're right. That 1-point loss @ NC State was tough. Gotta hate those games where you outgain your opponent and still lose. That game-winning TD pass from a future NFL QB with 0:16 was hard to watch for FSU fans I'm sure.

He won those tho... Something Dooley didn't do.... This Fisher and Richt being overrated stuff is way overblown. Looks like they both have teams that are in the top ten in the polls.... I'd love if UT was in that position right now...

I agree, I guess a HC that has won an average of 10 games a year, has SEC ties, is a tremendous recruiter, and would be leaving a top 10 program to come here wouldn't make some fans happy.
I feel sorry for those people, not sure what you're looking for...

I gotta disagree with you. If Hart is able to lure Fisher away from FSU, he gets a high five from me (unless he pays him like $6mm to do it). Is he Saban or Chip Kelly or another "guaranteed" thing? No. But when 10-2 (and probably a conference championship) is a disappointment, I'll take that all day. People act like our new coach needs to be someone with such a pedigree that we will be the favorite to win the national championship next year.

What postion does Eddie Gran coach, and who could he be looking at for his OC and DC?

I agree with Abvol Fisher really worries me. 1. I do not think he has any real interest in UT. The only thing we offer that FSU doesn't is a lot of money. I think he will follow the Les Miles blueprint and leverage us for a big raise. 2. if he does want to come here he will require a massive financial package. I personally believe he is closer to Kirk Ferentz then Nick Saban.

Gran is a RB coach but, has coached WR's I think.
I really believe Gran will get the So Miss job. Gran loved UT though.

I can't get pass Southern Miss going 0-12 this season....What does that say about the shape he left his program. I like everything else about the guy, but can't decide how I feel about that.

I'd be thrilled with either of those, too. I'm not smart enough to rank who would be best of all the remaining candidates but give me anyone from the group of Fisher, Strong, Fedora, or Stoops (who is realllllly unlikely) and I'll be ecstatic. Butch Davis or Al Golden and I'll be skeptical but give them a chance.

I have to disagree, a guy who has had three winning seasons. Went 10-2 this year and about to win an ACC championship and go to a BCS bowl. He's a great recruiter and has ties to Florida. I guess you have to go undefeated to be a candidate at Tennessee.

I think you might be blowing the FL lost out of proportion. Don't forget, Jimbo has a 2-1 head-coaching record against FL since being named the head coach in 2010. You ask what he has done at FSU... well, Jimbo is 29-10 in three years at FL St.--that's a .744 winning percentage. He has reached and won a bowl game every year since taking over. Under Fisher, FSU has won or been ACC co-champions 2 out of the 3 years he has been the head coach. Finally, Jimbo has pulled in consecutive #2 ranked recruiting classes. There is no question IMO that the guy can coach and recruit.

There in lies my problem. FSU should ALWAYS dominate the ACC. He's also recruiting to FSU in FL. Very easy to do.

He took over a losing program and has recruited his tail off at Louisville.
I've like him for a long time. USCjr, and UF he was a great DC.

Louisville is currently ranked 92nd in the 247 polls for recruiting this year. That's really really bad. He hasn't won big in a sub-par conference. There is zero evidence he has what it takes to win here.
