Impressed w/ VOLympics...

  • I'm impressed with the VOLympics aspects of character building, particularly that they will receive points for attending Bible Studies. That's an area that CBJ could receive some flack on, but more power to him for trying to character build the players by involving a biblical aspect. I know this will receive different views, but I think it should be commended. Go Vols!

  • As someone who is really big on keeping religion away from school I think it's a great idea. I don't think the goal is to make people good christians but to get them involved in a moral community outside of football.

  • scared haha jk

Whether or not we all believe the Bible to be true, I think we can all agree that it includes some really good stories that can help build a man's character. Courage, endurance, patience, and perseverence.. useful traits on and off the field and all are discussed in the Bible. Good idea by whoever came up with this IMO.

  • I'm not trying to get a religion thread started, but more of a praise to the fact that CBJ is willing to go outside the norm to get things done. Like lulzercopter said, this whole VOLympics thing is about building a community and accountability outside of the practice fields. That's one of the biggest things they need IMO, especially with mandatory hours limited for film, practice, etc. This whole deal can help in so many different areas. I'm all for a coach that's willing to think outside the box and not worry about the ramifications.

  • Just to clear up since Frosty seemed upset. I personally am not religious and I know some people will be all upset that "Bible study" was specifically mentioned but I think it's a great idea because it gives them something else to do and other people to be with. People who spend their time giving to the community instead of going to bars all the time. I think CBJ has a good thing going and I can't imagine him taking any real flak for this.
