In spirit of Election day....

  • Not only no but helllllllll noooooooooooo

    UTVOL29

  • I'm gonna be like those people last election and use a dead mans vote.
Count president Lincoln as a YES.

    Vollogan33

  • ODA751

  • I will use a famously hillarious quote to sum up my feelings since I already voted. "You are what your record says you are." Wait, which election is this about?

I know we've had several discussions but lets take a head count and see where everyone stands. With no arguments or anything just cast your vote. As of today do you want Dooley to be the coach of the Vols next year...

    My vote...No

    NoYesMaybe

  • tsams45

  • Absolutely not!

    PowerTNation

  • 20-18 I believe in favor of him being gone.

    Imallvol

  • Yes. With a impeachment option with a loss in the next three weeks.

  • Yea.

BUTCH IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART. GO VOLS!

    OrangeNCarolina

  • motownvol

  • polirules

  • Now to create 15 accounts to stuff the ballot box.

    polirules

  • 22-21 in favor of keeping him.

    Imallvol

  • I'm on the fence. I voted for him before I voted against him. I'm going to have to say no. Unfortunately, to succeed at Tennesssee, you either have to be a rock star or someone who is able to do more with less. I don't think Dooley is either. He's Mark Richt in orange pants, but Richt has first pick with most of the GA high school players. Tennessee has its built-in disadvantages when it comes to recruiting, which is why we need a rock star-type hire.

    bigorangekaz

  • Ended up 23-22 in favor of keeping him. From what I've seen on other boards and polls this board is more pro-Dooley then the fan base as whole. Interesting stuff I think. It's going to make for more good discussions.

  • Forty-five people voted. This minute, there are 533 people on this board.

People who post on boards actually tend to be more negative than most others. Our board is unusual because we do have many outspoken, positive, pro-Tennessee people who support the program and its leaders through thick and thin. A lot of us have been around through even darker times, if you can believe that. We know that college football is not a static, that teams, programs and coaches evolve, and brighter days lie ahead for Tennessee.

I would bet that a healthy percentage of those 533 are for Tennessee, no matter what. Most of them just don't feel like going public with that support and get blasted by the other faction.

So are you implying that I am anti-Tennessee simply because I want a change at the head coaching position?

So if I don't want to keep Dooley I'm not pro-Tennessee? I assume you're not saying that. A UT wife with two degrees from UT, two UT degrees myself, an annual gift agreement, etc. later, I love this school and it would be a surprise to me that I'm not pro-Tennessee. Honestly, I believe that Dooley is trying, but unless he is able to win out, I believe bringing him back would do more harm than good not only to the team, but also to the school which depends on the success of the football team for marketing and a host of other things. It also hurts other athletic programs which depend on football money for funding.

I assume that you want Dooley to come back because you believe it benefits TN for him to do so. Those that don't want him back are most likely of the opinion that bringing him back would not benefit the University of Tennessee. To me, everyone, irrespective of where you side, is pro-Tennessee. You seem to think differently about those that disagree with you on a friggin football coach. Your definition of "Pro-Tennessee" excludes not only rabid fans that didn't matriculate there, but love UT still the same, but your definition equally excludes people who have spent and continue to spend alot of money supporting their school academically and athletically. Smh.

I love Tennessee more than anything. I dont want him back because I dont think he is the right man for the job. I have been around for many years and though tough years. I know teams have ups and downs and we will be back again. And I will support the team if they keep him but if given a choice I would pick another person to be the head coach.

  • God, no. Total misread. Read what I said "people who support the program AND ITS LEADERS through thick and thin." That's the side I represent. Show me where I said people who want Dooley fired don't support Tennessee. I didn't say that, and once again, I appreciate the downvotes for expressing a frigging opinion. I don't downvote people for expressing an opinion, but that's how intolerant this place is getting to be, I guess.

If you insist we talk extremely frankly then, and really tell it like it is, consider this. It is generally accepted that if Dooley wins out, he stays. Hart has said he is looking for improvement, and 7 wins is a definite improvement over 5. This is the record many rational fans, and even the rational non-fan Wes, expected going into this season. So if Dooley being fired is your top priority, then you are without a doubt, rooting for Tennessee to lose at least one of the next three games.

You can't have it both ways. Tennessee finishes 4-0 and the coach gets fired? I just can't see it.

Exactly my point. I am a UT graduate, season ticket holder, donor, and I bleed orange. I can love my university and not agree that the correct man is in charge. Going by that logic if you woke up this morning upset that Obama won you are anti-America.
