The kid seems to have his values in place. He wants to go and visit family in Canada which also indicates to me he is confident in his ability to come back and play. It actually would work in our favor because of the QB's we have and when they are likely to be gone. I also noticed his mind is still in Canada since he kept referring to Knoxville being 'down there'. I think he will get an offer and will do well at Baylor. Thanks Ryan +1.

Not in Canada, very common there

I remember Ritzmann being German born- not sure about any Canadians.

It is very common practice to take a 13th year of school in Canada. I know I would have benefitted from an extra year before the freedom of college. He is very serious about his football and it sounds like the family did a very detailed analysis of schools before deciding on Baylor after looking at schools in California, NJ, Florida, Michigan and Georgia.

For the longest time, it was McCallie that produced a lot of legitimate D1 talent in the Chattanooga area. It looks like the tide has shifted back to Baylor once again...

That's a definite. B.J Coleman was the last big McCallie name that really sticks out to me. Of course that wasn't that long ago really. (4-6 years ago?). It will be interesting to see who reigns this year through the Chatt. area. Baylor was also tough last year and Ooltewah has also been hard to handle. That just may be a Friday night event worth taking part in this year.
