I'm all about in state guys, especially the elite guys that are gonna play wherever they go . We can't let them get away but we've seen a whole lot go other places and never touch the field. If you ran a company you wouldn't give a job to a guy just because he was from Tennessee. If your company was going to be succesful you give to the best available regardless of where he's from. We need players not projects. Tennessee has some players but week in and week out doesn't face the level of competition that some other sates have. We have always produced linemen and linebackers. Very few secondary, recievers and runningbacks and even fewer Quarterbacks. High school coaching and talent has alot to do with that. Skill position players is where we really hurt. So it would be hard to take a chance on guys at those positions for obvious reasons.

Agree. I love to see an in-state player contribute to the team, but I want the coaching staff to fill the spots with the best possible players for UT.
I think a player can give his all for Tennessee even if he was raised in another state.

No, Hurd definitely has a lot of interest in Tennessee. Ohio State and Florida are the early leaders, but the Vols are going to be a much bigger factor with him now that Butch Jones' staff is in place. There's still plenty of time for UT to overtake those two teams.
