While it is true that Chad does stay in touch with Peyton, I highly doubt the poster on TOS heard that directly from Chad or anyone close to Chad. He feels that Gruden is a real possibility, but he also feels that there are other great coaches out there who UT could get. I have not asked him about Peyton's involvement for two reasons: (1) I respect my friendship with Chad and (2) I respect his friendship with Peyton and other major players in this search. If he wanted me to know then he would tell me and, quite honestly, I highly doubt he would tell the poster on TOS or anyone else without me knowing something. With that being said, I have no idea who the poster on TOS is and I have not seen his post. I do know Chad though and I know it would be highly uncharacteritic of him to divulge such information to anyone, family included.

No, Chad does not post on message boards, nor does he read them. Last year someone started saying that a poster on one of the less credible sites ( not here or on Hubbs site, but I can't remember each one) was Chad posting while rehabbing from hamstring injury. I called Chad myself to make sure he was aware this was out there on the internet he had no clue, and honestly didn't care as long as the original poster did not ever say he was Chad. The OP never made this claim - it was other "cyber sleuths" who said they had figured out it was Chad by using IP addresses and some clues that the OP had dropped. The OP never denied being Chad and I think he got caught up in the hoopla. I asked him some direct questions on that board that anyone close to Chad would know and he would never respond one way or another. I do believe that it was someone who was a casual acquaintance of Chad (HS classmate perhaps), but it was definitely not Chad or anyone close to him.
