If what I laughingly refer to as my "memory" is correct, isn't this the same Butch Davis that needed a missed pat, a rules changing bad call by the officials, and OT to beat Dooley in the "Music City Bowl" two years ago?

Yes - missing half his starting defense, still beat UT.
The starters that were missing had been out all year from suspension so he had roughly the same starters he'd had all year, same as Dooley ( who was also down a boatload of players due to attrition).
So the talent on the field was roughly even.
And he STILL needed a missed PAT, a rule changing bad call, and OT to beat Dooley.
Then UNC vacated all it's wins from the prior two years for "improper benefits".
Thanks, (and if we do hire Davis, I'll support him just as I will whoever we hire) but if given the chance, I'd pass on this one.
