If we are turned down by several others, sure, he could work. But I do think he has too much baggage right now. Plus, what is his record against the teams we are trying to catch? Wasn't he trying to get over the LSU/Bama hump too. I think Arky should rehire the man if someone wants to forgive him.

Petrino is the total opposite of Dooley...he's a strong field coach with no integrity. Dooley was a bad field coach with high integrity. We deserve both a strong field coach with high integrity...is having both too much for such a fine university to ask? Petrino's profile is what got us into this mess to begin with in Kiffen. No shortcuts this time. Do the right thing. Petrino has slime all over him. He disappeared in the middle of the night from the Falcons...Arkansas situation speaks for itself. He's never been anywhere longer than 2-3 years as a head coach. Is that what we really want after all we've been through? If our University leadership chooses him to be our next coach, this is one Alum and lifelong fan that will be done with UT Football.

I have been a vols fan most my life and I figured out a long time ago that there are going to be decisions made that I am not going to agree with or be able to control so I move on and support my university no matter how they decide, whether its coaching or scheduling. Would I agree with them hiring petrino? Heck no! But I will move on and I will still cheer and support my volunteers! I'm so fed up w all the pouting on here over speculation. If Tennessee hires petrino and you want to sell your tickets? Great! I could use them! If after 44yrs of being a fan you want to walk away? Good! We want nothing but real fans anyways! I apologize for my own whining, I just love this site because of the stories and facts we get and most of the posters. But the so called "fans" need to go back to govolsxtra with the rest of the bandwagoners. VFL!
