It comes down to two choices for me: Gruden or Strong

  • You guys can't have Strong. Go get someone unemployed. Wow Vols fans really like our coaches. Petrino and Strong. Go get a good up and comer DC we gave Strong the chance you went after Dooley.

    Haha. I can see why you want to make sure he stays at UL. The guy is a good coach.

    He would be high in my list, but not as high as the more proven guys like Stoops, Fisher, or Patterson (who I am shocked is not getting more love from Vol fans). I like Strong, but the sample size is still pretty small. I would be afraid we are buying high after one good season as a HC. And as far as recruiting, it has already been said, who doesn't recruit well at Florida? And the assistants do most of the recruiting work anyway. Give me one of those guys that we know has had success as a head coach at a major school for multiple years, and load him up with Graham, Pittman, Tee and the best recruiters from his old staff. I'd feel much better about that.

    I wouldn't be. Jimbo has underperformed with elite Florida talent. If he can't win big there, how could he at UT?

    I think it's worth a call to Bob Stoops too. Offer him big money. He may think about it. Oklahoma faithful are getting restless. I am sure he'd like to be king again and start fresh.
