I just do not believe Hinshaw would tell the kid he would definitely start with the crop of WRs TN has in the 2012 class. He does not have big time offers, as well.

Yeah, as Dooley said in an earlier interview w/247, the Vols are only offering JUCOs that the coaches feel can step right in and contribute. Like the fact that this young man has three years of eligibility and could be an EE...oh yeah, and the 4.4 speed! Go Vols!

with Croom, Bowles, and Howard and prob having patterson another year and well I feel that I'm leaving out one or two as well. I just don't see Hinshad telling him he will start and I'm surprised that we woudl go after a JUCO guy unless he is a great player.. Little surprised here

Back when UT had reputation of being "Wide Receiver U", the staff was able to fill in the vacancies left by WRs leaving the program with equally talented players. Also, this staff is going after players that will fit their system and schemes, not necessarily the players one or more recruiting services rate the highest. So I'm not surprised that they're going the JUCO route, especially since they're targeting players who should be ready to play early.
