  • Love his physical stats but his game stats are not eye popping...1 TD all year? only 250+ receiving yards? Just curious, do JUCO colleges play a full 12 game schedule or is much shorter than a regular football season? Just wondering if that is a reason for the low stats...Know you cant fully go off of stats but stats like that seem to jump out to you and just makes you wonder if you cant produce at the JUCO level, why would it be different in the SEC?

Not trying to downgrade him at all...I watched his film and you can see the 'potential' is there! Just hope these new coaches are better at developing so called raw players into solid performing players!!!

    GBO!

  • Great write-up, Ryan. This could end up being a great piece in the story of how this staff turned the corner in a few years. Quinn seems to have some unlocked potential that the coaches really like, and it'll be interesting to see how it plays out.

  • I think this will be a good pick up. He obviously has the size and natural athleticism. Although volleball is not basketball, it does require hand-eye coordination and soft hands. Hopefully he will be to us what Jimmy Graham became for the Saints!

Thanks Ryan +1. I know some are going to say look at his offer list and so on but this kid is big, athletic and must have good hand eye coordination. I remember Tex Schramm the GM of the Cowboys signed a lot of guys based on body type, speed and measurable's other than football experience. He was very successful doing this so I hope we have a similar situation with this kid. My only concern is the two to play two. If he get's injured it could cost us a scholarship spot with no hope of recovering through a redshirt. However, welcome WQ and GoVols!

    Big poppy

  • Big risk on a 2yr player.

  • Good write up. Butch and Co know how to spot TE talent. I trust the coaching staff's evaluations and support the players.

  • I like Quinn's attitude and the fact that he really wants to be at UT. He called off other visits.

And he will be a great test case for this staff to show a couple of things: how well can they spot talent and how well can they coach it up? The next two years will tell us something about these recruiters and coaches. I hope it really is one of those great stories of college football.

    Well said. +1

  • The fact that he played volleyball at that level tells me he can probably jump, has quick feet, soft hands, good hand-eye, and good timing. GBO...welcome Mr Quinn.

  • How well did he play volleyball?
