It is one thing to hear the TE position will be used heavily and another to believe that you are the type of TE that will be used heavily in the system.

what he means is.. now that we will be running a spread offense theirs not alot of work for a tight end period..and if ur a tight end thats tryn to get alot of action,, it aint in the spread

This is true for the classic, heavier, blocking, occasional-receiver, tight end. The hybrid types can do well in a spread. They offer lots of mismatch possibilities, which is the goal of "spreading" the D out. Jackson seems to be one of those more athletic types of TE's that could find a place in a spread. And if he can block downfield when needed, that's huge.

A lot of people lump spread O's together. It's important to look at a coach's style within a "spread" system. Some tend to sling it about the yard. Others use the spread alignments to exploit defensive tendencies and still manage to run a fairly balance run/pass offense. It's also vastly different when your QB is mobile or not, or when your TB is an open space runner, a slasher, or a downhill power back.

All I am saying, really, is that Jackson has legitimate questions and should do his homework on this O staff. He will find that Jones has managed to keep a fairly balance run/pass offense over the past six years. Admittedly, I do not know how he used his TE's.

I'd love to hear if someone has those kinds of stats.
