Hate to see this, but it seems he brought this on himself. Just a quick idea, but I think it would be nice for the Vfl program to have classes or help athletes learn how to handle their finances. Lets help our boys plan for a life after football.

All students should have to take a personal finance class. Many students, let alone the great athletes, don't understand it.

Personal finance is a required class in high school here in TN but I'm not sure it means a great deal to the high school kids. I agree that the VFL program should provide something for the athletes regarding personal finance.

Since when about the personal finance class? I had Econ but that isn't finance. I graduated in '04 so it hasn't been that long.

Concussions did not cause him to spend 55 mil when he only made 45 mil. That's just being an idiot. Shouldn't need a finance class to understand a simple math concept. Time to stop making excuses for these guys. They are adults and they chose to play football.

I somewhat agree that the vfl program needs to think about what it can do to help, but don't think that the VFL program needs to be responsible for what the GROWN MEN do with their money if they make it or fail. Can you not hear it now what the headlines say " Dooley and his VFL program fails to teach these young men how to spend money responsibly".
How to be a responsible adult should be taught at HOME not at college. Parents need to be parents not BFFs. That's my opinion and only my opinion, GO VOLS!!

They teach them finance and budgeting in the VFL program......still if you make 40+ million and you cant make it.........you just aint going to make it. Hope he ends up ok still.
