I think Hatcher and Ramsey would have been Vols if Tee would have come on staff. He couldn't turn down the extra money and longer guaranteed contract. Oh well, he chose what he thought was best for his family.

It wasn't extra money with California state income tax and the higher cost of living.

I agree that the taxes are higher out there but from what I've been told, USC paid him between 500-600k per year for 3 years guaranteed and UT was offering $400k for 2 years. I was also told that USC is paying for his house. This comes from someone on staff at USC who is close to Tee. I'm not sure if its 100% accurate but that's what I heard.

That seems absurd for a WR coach in his mid 30s. I love Tee but there is no way he demands that kind of comp.

Supposedly Kiffin and Haden put the full court press on Tee when they found out he was flying to Knoxville and gave him everything he asked for. The coaches wives did the same thing to Tee's wife.
