FWIW Mo Couch just tweeted a pic of...you guessed it, a black UT jersey. I don't particularly care about this subject one way or another. I tend to be a "traditional" type guy, but if the kids like it I'm fine with it.

    and he said............@MoTrilla44

Having new unis some may feel its not UT traditional,n it's understandable.crazy as it sounds it bring in talent n great performance on Sat!

  • Also said he was confident it would bring in new recruits. I agree with him. Definitely my favorite Vol to follow on twitter. A true VFL

Exactly. Too many middle aged UT fans that wet their pants at the sound of change. I don't give a crap either way. Just win some football games so we dont have to talk about this stupid censored

I'm a 40 year old who is in a marketing job, and a alternative uniform package is great it is exciting to the young men on the team as well as the young men we are trying to get! It is very simple the players choose schools and this one thing can help sway a few more our way! Also we need to drop Adidas and sign with Nike or Under Armour!

What era exactly are we in? The era of dressing like clowns just to attract the attention of people with short attention spans?

    Yes.

  • Fifteen years ago my 60 year old high school basket ball coach got it. He knew if we were dressed good, we would feel good, and therefore play better.

  • I want to see our D-line play so well our opponents envision their jerseys have a brick-wall pattern to them.

  • L. Little is even tweeting about changing things up.

  • How could you not get excited about something like these? I mean, c'mon. They're awesome.

  • I could care less either way. I love the black jerseys. I love the orange jerseys. I like our white jerseys. What i do not like is Tennessee fans (see the 1st page of this thread) posting things like "You won't see Alabama do...". I. DO.NOT.CARE. Who cares what alabama does? Nothing they do or do not do related to uniforms (and any number of other things) has no influence or bearing on The University of Tennessee. That sentence should never be used to justify something UT should or shouldn't do. Using that as a justification for doing something is pretty ridiculous. Tennessee is a school that is good enough with enough tradition and history to not even think about "is this something alabama would do" before doing it. We're not some piddly little school.

Oh God. 9 months of this.

    My thoughts exactly.

  • They're not Tennessee. Even if we did go to Nike (which, being an adidas guy I hope not) they wouldn't look like that. It'd be more like Bama's jerseys, just the plain traditional orange and white. Sorry bud

I too had a older high school coach who "got it" He said if you looked good you played good. A new uni combo once a year would be fine IMOclap

  • Just Do It. No, wait. I can't use that slogan. What is Adidas' slogan? I won't lie. I have a quite a few black UT shirts. But I also have a few white and a ton of Orange. It's a university full of 18-22 year old kids. If wearing a funky jersey every now and then floats their boat, far be it from me to sink it. GO VOLS!

  • Good designers can balance tradition and style. Alabama's 2010 'Pro Combat' jerseys were a clean variation on the traditional style, with the Bear Bryant houndstooth pattern in the numbers.

Tennessee could use a little visual flair on occasion (Not to mention Tennessee's last win vs. a ranked team was in '09 vs. South Carolina - IN BLACK).

Those are pretty sweet but there is one main problem. UT is an Adidas school. I'm sure Adidas will get on board with the uniform innovation train to continue to compete with Nike and Under Armor's uniform stunts.

I like our traditional Uniforms, wasn't crazy about the black, but I did like the change of pace. The players certainly would like to see some change ups from time to time.

And yes, recruits do look at whether or not a school is Nike, Under Armor, Adidas. Not saying it's their sole means of making the decision but if all thing are equal between two competing schools, uniforms style and brand could be the tipping point.
