    I'm not sure about that..

    fisher came in 2007.

hart announced resignation in May of 2007 effective at year end.

fisher was named HCIW in december 2007 so sounds strange that outgoing AD would influence that. especially one at odds with administration..

you might be right. I'm speculating based on timelines.

You might be right. I wasn't sure of the timeline of when Hart left and Fisher got there. I do think someone in the admin pushed for Fisher as HCIW but it may not have been Hart.

  • Would love the hire! I hope its a realistic possibility, bc he could get this thing going. Just hard to see him not going to the barn.

    Not even close.

You're right, Mack Brown lucked up and won a National Championship other than that they both have underachieved with a boat load of talent. JMO but I'd rather have Fulmer back than these two.

Great point I think Auburn is after Patrino. I don't see him leaving but yes he would be an absolute homerun

There is a 0.0% chance Auburn hires Petrino.

Also Since Jimbo took over they've lost to NC State twice, UNC, UVA and !!WAKE FOREST!! that is underachieving even for us.

FSU is 16-2 in its last 18 games with the two losses by at TOTAL of 2 points. He needs to give up playcalling because I think he puckers up when he gets ahead and wont put his foot on the pedal, but to say he has underachieved is pretty silly.

Really? Even we beat NC State?? Instead we've lost to Bama 3 times, UF 3 times, Georgia 3 times, USCe 3 times, LSU twice, MSU in Dooleys stint that is a brutal schedule. Dont get me wrong this is not keep Dooley post by any means just stating facts. FSU has been preseason top 5 2of3 yrs that he's been there his recruiting classes go like this #10, #2, #6 and working on another top class and he always gets beat by a couple scrubs every year?.......yea I think that's underachieving. If FSU was in the SEC they lose 4-5 every year. Sorry man but the proof is in the pudding.

  • Even though Fisher seems like a good guy, I think,he has under achieved at FSU. Not sure he is a great coach.

Jimbo Fisher has never lost a Bowl Game. He has never lost to a Rival (3-0 Vs. Miami and 2-0 vs. Florida). He has had some slip ups in games he should have won, no doubt, but to me, those games we lost are more reflective of him as an OC (an average one at that) than as a HC. Many people (myself included) believe that Jimbo needs to give up playcalling duties. Jimbo has also indicated that this is something that he is considering given the other things on his plate.

However, the infrastructure he has built in this program in 3 years is second only to Saban. The school is about to break ground on a new IPF and Players Dorm. They S&C program is leaps and bounds ahead of where it was 3 years ago. Player recruiting and evaluation is the best it has been since the 90's. Sure we lost a game this year. In 2008, Florida lost to Ole Miss en route to a NC. FSU will likely Finish the year 13-1 with an ACC Championship and Orange Bowl Victory (over Louisville). It will have been over 1000 days since we lost to a team in the State of Florida (our Rivals) and we will be on to another Top 10 recruiting class.

You give me a successful coach and Ill show you 5-10 games he lost that he should have won. It happens to all of them.

  • FSU fans complaining about Fisher are about like Vols fans complaining about Fulmer when he was going 11-1 and 10-2 but not winning NC's. FSU was alot like UT is right now when Fisher took over...they were .500 or slightly better and he has taken the team to a top 10 team.
Sorry guys but there are very few Alabama's and Oregon's in the world....and even Saban and Kelly lose games.

You are entitled to your opinion and make some good points but I just think that he has underachieved. Show 5 teams in a 3 yr span as bad as the ones I mentioned that beat FSU that has beat Saban, Miles or Kelley in a 3yr span. Anyway no matter what I say I'm not changing your opinion of Jimbo and I respect that and I also never said he was a bad coach I just said I think he has underachieved and I bet if we could ask him for his honest opinion he would think the same thing.
