Couldn't agree more. He seemed like he was purposely trying to suck all of the positive energy out of the room with that one question. I wasn't surprised it all though. However, I was pretty damn impressed with Dooley's reply.

I cancelled my subscription to the News Sentinel because of Mr. Adams. I wrote an explicit email to the publisher as to why I was cancelling. I refuse to read any of his material on line. Regretfully, he is not alone in his negative attitudes toward the Tennessee athletic department.

I wish I could have back the 5 minutes I just wasted reading the trashy piece of drivel. Didn't expect a homer type column, but that was absolutely pathetic. He should be writing for the National Enquirer or better yet, one of the trashy British tabloids.

I can't stand the man. I have never read an article by him that isn't negative towards UT. I stopped reading his articles about two years ago right after Dooley got hired.

Can't believe the man earns a living doing work of this quality.

I'm just glad he is not an obituary writer. We would hate every person who died.

Poor John......He would tell the teller at the bank that his stack of 100's weren't crisp enough....that's sad :(

I normally don't criticize Adams, but that was a piece of trash article. The fact that he chose to make the first half of his article entirely about Bonner is only surpassed in negativity by his decision to bring attention to the Kenny O'neal bust when discussing Patterson. Out of all the things he could have chosen to write about, Adams chose the most negative storyline, which is that Tennessee is desperate. I personally think he's just trying to move product.

Actually I think he did well as a journalist to ask the question about Bonner, and the points he makes in the linked story are pretty fair for the most part. His generally snarky tone and interpretation of the facts indicates a motive of casting a negative light on the program, however. It's been this way with John Adams for a long time. I think he's a pretty decent writer but he just chooses to take potshots at the program more often than not.

I like when people play devils advocate (or are just the devil). Otherwise who would I argue with

I don't care for name calling but this is a site for the discussion of things that pertain to UT and the opinions about Adams pertain to UT. He puts himself in the public arena with his comments and he is therefore fair game for reverse commentary. I certainly hope you understand our feelings just as I understand that you have the right to shut down that commentary. When it does cross the line into personal attacks I am in complete support of your stopping that in it's tracks.
