John Pennington on Mr. SEC...

Reports that Dools talked w/ Hart about buyout after last year's loss with Kentucky.
I don't believe it.
1. IMO Dooley is too strong willed to even think about quitting.
2. If this would of actually happened hart would of fired him on the spot.
But that's just opinion.

Two thoughts, 1.) MrSec generally stays out of the rumor mill, 2.) Pennington being a former print writer, I generally put a little more weight behind his sources, as opposed to folks that know folks.
And I know, occasionally those friends of friends will be right, but a broken clock is also right twice a day....

I could actually see this happening in all the emotion after the UK loss, and I actually think Hart has more confidence in CDD & this staff than many of our fans have. One thing is for sure though, we will find out soon (whether its next week or the end of next month...).

That's one of the reasons why the Tennessee vice chancellor of athletics didn't think it'd be appropriate to speak with Derek Dooley or offer the coach a public vote of confidence after the Vols' season-ending loss to Kentucky, the program's first since 1984.

I don't know about Mr. SEC's reporting accuracy, but personally, I have a hard time believing it simply because Dooley and Hart are so tight-lipped about everything else.

When asked about a post on MrSEC.com claiming that Derek Dooley had offered Dave Hart his resignation dependent upon a buyout following UT's loss to Kentucky last year, the coach called it "absurd" and said "I'd be a real dumbass to do that right now!"
