Asked whether he was more concerned about the UT football team’s mental or physical state after so many recent struggles, Butch Jones wanted to have his cake and eat it, too.

Nice article, nice information. Getting me excited about what's to come at UT.
I love hearing Coach Jones talk football and team building! This has me fired up!
Amazing what 3 months in the driver's seat does. Coach Jones obviously has a much clearer picture of the kind of team he has and spring practice will reveal even more. I liked his point that with the entire staff being new, every player has to earn his role because there are no preconceived notions.
These pressers are soft stuff, so hopefully Jones will have rhino-thick skin with the media by the time we reach SEC Media Days in July.
I think it speaks volumes that not one player has been late to a team meeting or a work out. Credit the team as well as the coaching staff for staying motivated. Hopefully their motivation will lead to success this Fall.
This guy makes me want to run through a wall for him and that's just sitting here reading it....
BUTCH IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART. GO VOLS!
"Give him six" "We don't give a damn about the whole state of Alabama"
Coaches are saying the right things, team is doing the right things now it's time to take the next step on the field. I'm excited to see how this spring goes.

Your team. All the time.
Love what we are HEARING. Looking forward to what we SEE at spring practice.
And I hope to see progress in the fall and in the season.
Please Vols fans, try not to mix excitement with expectations. This is a brutal schedule the Vols have to play this year. This could be a way better team and still only go 5-7 or 6-6. Hey, I am with you in hoping for 8 or 9 wins, but I will not get down on this staff or this HC for this year's record. I want to see a team that is mentally tough, plays smart assignment football, doesn't give up "career days" to opponents every week, and fights the whole game. Do those, and I will know that we are on the right track.
I'll be happy with a faster, tougher team this year as long as they play hard and don't quit even if they lose. I just want to see progress. So do those 4 and 5 star recruits.
