It seems as if Butch Jones gets it. The first impression is he has the same type of high-energy salesman personality that Bruce Pearl has and made Pearl such a hit with the fans. I did support Dooley, but his personality is more guarded like that of the lawyer he is trained to be as he's trying to protect information that could be used against him on the field of play.
Even with the tough schedule we have next fall, there is no reason we shouldn't have a winning season if we take care of the teams we should beat...something we didn't do this year.
I can't wait to see the staff he puts together and how well they sell their vision of the Tennessee football future to recruits.

2013 is set up to be rough but Jones second year could be the breakthrough we've been waiting for. All I ask of the Vols is to fight them until hell freezes and then fight them on the ice. That's what we've been missing and I think that above all is what Jones brings us.

Butch was the 4th coach on my list. My biggest concern was his lack of recruiting in the South and against SEC competition. He does want to be at UT and that is exciting. I think he will take being the 3rd or 4th choice and the "lack of SEC experience" as a challenge. I think he has something to prove to the world.

I am interested to see how Jones' spread works out for us.
I'm not an expert on it, so i did a bit of digging to try and learn more about it. Trying to find it's pros vs cons. I asked a few of my former HS coaches. Went through an online playbook.
Here is a video I found that really breaks it down, and shows the basics of what Jones' will be running. Of course he has his own variation, but you can see a few pros and cons.

I agree he has said alot of the right things.... but so did dooley and kiffin.... it's all about recruiting and winning on the field... we'll know more in October next year. After the last 4 years, I'm loaded with a ton of skepticism. He does want to be here and he seems to be full of positive energy....but it is along way from 8 wins or more in the SEC.
